Our members-only Date Night is held on the first Friday of each month (5:00–7:00 PM). Kids cook dinner, enjoy low-key activities, and wind down for the evening—pajamas welcome for an easy bedtime at home. Children must be 4 years old, fully potty-trained and able to use the restroom independently.
Parents Night Out is an extended version of Date Night, held on the second Friday of each month and open to members and non-members. Kids cook dinner, enjoy activities, and end the night with a movie. Children must be 4 years old, fully potty-trained and able to use the restroom independently.
Your child’s safety is our top priority. Our staff actively supervises children at all times—kids are never left unattended. We also intentionally create space for children to build independence and confidence. Because our programs involve hands-on cooking and active play, it’s important to understand that not all bumps, spills, or falls can be prevented, even with attentive supervision. Our role is to monitor closely, guide safely, and respond immediately when needed.
Yes. Our team is experienced in working with children and trained to supervise group activities, maintain a safe environment, and respond promptly to incidents. They are also Food & Allergen Safety Certified, CPR & First Aid Certified and Trained Mandated Reporters.
Some camps include visits to local parks or off-site activities. Our supervision standards remain the same. Children are guided and monitored at all times; however, public spaces, school buses, public transportation and playground equipment involve active movement and inherent risk. While staff are present and attentive, they cannot physically prevent every fall. We focus on proactive supervision, clear boundaries, and quick response.
If a child is injured, we follow established protocols: Immediate staff response and appropriate first aid, Ongoing monitoring of the child, Completion of an incident report, Parent communication at pickup (or sooner if the situation requires)
For most minor incidents, we provide full details at pickup. For more significant injuries, we may follow up within one business day to check on your child. If urgent care is needed, we contact families right away. We know these moments can feel scary—our goal is to respond quickly, communicate clearly, and support both child and parent.
We encourage children to grow in confidence and independence. Children should be able to: Follow basic instructions, Participate safely in group activities, Use the restroom independently
We gently encourage participation while respecting each child’s comfort level. Our team will support and guide them without pressure. We love the phrase "we don't yuck someone's yum" and "Have fun & Be Brave" meaning to try new food!
Yes, we do our best to accommodate common allergies. Please notify us in advance so we can plan appropriately & ensure this information is completed in your Sawyer Profile and/or Waiver form.

At Junior Chefs Kitchen, we aim to balance flexibility with keeping our programs running smoothly for all families. For our semester-based classes, we’re happy to offer unlimited makeup classes while you’re actively enrolled in the full semester. We simply ask that you give us at least 8 hours’ notice if your child will miss a class so we can offer the spot to another young chef. If we don’t receive notice, that class will not be eligible for a makeup. Please note that all makeups must be scheduled during your current enrollment period. For our camps, all registrations are non-refundable, as staffing, ingredients, and supplies are planned well in advance. However, if you let us know at least one week before your scheduled camp, we’re glad to transfer your credit to another camp date (if space allows) or hold it on your account to apply toward a future semester. Transfers are based on availability and are not guaranteed. If we have to issue a refund for any reason (at our discretion), we will withhold the original 3% credit card processing fee. We truly appreciate your understanding and partnership as we work to create a joyful, well-prepared cooking experience for every child. If you have any questions or need to discuss a change, please reach out—we’re always here to help!
